Kapiti Coast Diesel Services (KCDS) was founded in December 1994 by Steve and Donna Lawton, who shared a vision of creating a friendly, family-owned business that catered to the heavy vehicle and machinery repair needs of the local transport industry. Steve had started his training back in 1982 as a heavy vehicle technician, achieving his A Grade Automotive Technician qualification by 1988. Through hard work and dedication, Steve and Donna grew the business from humble beginnings, earning the trust of major fleet operators and local contractors across various industries.

Today, Kapiti Diesel is a thriving operation, with eight specialist diesel mechanics, an apprentice, and a dedicated parts and purchasing expert. Steve and Donna remain fully hands-on, continuing their commitment to high-quality training and upskilling for their team.
